Rezá Azul is a vocal duo featuring premiere San Francisco Bay Area & Los Angeles vocal coach, Raz Kennedy and Teresa Kali, a professional singer, sound healer, soundscape artist and vocal instructor from Malmö, Sweden. This informed and inspiring team is excited to present Song Interpretation & Storytelling, an insightful 2,5-hour masterclass, dedicated to enhancing a singer's storytelling ability in vocal performance. 

Raz and Teresa offer a curriculum inspired by their collaboration with celebrated Danish actor, singer, and educator, Ole Rasmus Møller, which is steeped in the practices of Constantin Stanislawskij, Sanford Meisner, and David Brunetti. This class features a streamlined 10-step model to effectively embody a character. Additionally, Raz and Teresa explore the principles of dynamics, rhythm and phrasing and the role they play in enhancing a singer's emotional delivery. 

As a group, participants will focus on the meaning behind lyrics and how they are communicated as if in a dialogue. Each singer will learn the skills to deepen their understanding of the close relationship between acting and singing, as well as how to employ simple techniques to develop on-stage charisma. 

Participants are expected to bring a song of their choice to the workshop. We encourage singer/songwriters to bring in original material to push the boundaries of their artistry. We will try to work with as many participants as we can on a 1-on-1 basis within the 2,5-hour window.

These classes will take place at Raz’ studio location in Berkeley.
